USPTO and UKIPO: Patent Cooperation Agreement

Last March (2010) two of the biggest entities in the Intellectual Property World, the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) announced plans to increase the quality and efficiency of the patent examination process by sharing each other’s work on commonly filed patent applications. Intellectual Property UK: Changes to the Examination Process on Relative Grounds

The Intellectual Property Office of the United Kingdom has announced changes in their examination procedures. From now on, they will no longer refuse to register a new trade mark application because of an earlier trademark conflicting, unless the owner of the earlier mark successfully opposes the new application. So be aware about these changes of processes related to Intellectual Property UK.
