Spain trademark database: Spanish Trademark Office trademarks now accessible through TMview

Spanish Trademark Office is the next to have its national trademark database available for searching via TMView, the online consultation tool that provides access to international, Community trademark and Spain trademark database in a single search.

Having access to Spain trademark database is not only key to the people planning on registering their trademarks in that country, but to the people who wish to check whether or not their trademark is already filed or registered, saving both time and money.

The service already provides free access to trademark database of OHIM and WIPO, as well as the UK, Czech, Italian, Benelux, Portuguese, and Danish Trademark Offices. Data from Estonia, Slovenia, Slovakia, and France will follow and the aim is for it eventually to cover all 27 EU Member States. The inclusion of 1 million Spanish trademark applications and registrations will bring the total number of searchable trademarks within the system up to more than 5 million.

TMview went live on 13 April and is already proving popular with users. During the first few months it has welcomed tens of thousands of visitors from 100 different countries, with users from Denmark, Italy and Spain among the most frequent visitors.

The service is free-of-charge, uses information that is updated daily and allows you to tailor a search using your own language. You can find out more at www.tmview.europa.eu
