According to the new CNNIC’s policy of .CN domain registration regulation issued on December 2009, any company from China can register Chinese domains. The Domain Name Industry closed 2009 with more than 192 million domain name registrations across all of the Top Level Domain Names (TLDs), an increase of nearly 15 million domain name registrations since the end of 2008.
In terms of total registrations, .com continues to have the highest base followed by .cn (China), .de (Germany), .net, .uk (United Kingdom), .org, .info, .nl (Netherlands), .eu (European Union), and .ru (Russia).

The last information available about Total Registries of ccTLD is showing that there are #13.589.459 .DE Domains registered in Germany ccTLD. A few years ago Germany was leading the race, but China came in with .CN Domains and took the first place. There have been some changes in .COM.CO and CO (Colombia) Domain registration policy:
.COM.CO – NO REQUIREMENTS
From February 7th, any person or company is able to register .COM.CO domain names. Previous domain requirements (local representation and trademark documentation) will no longer be applied.

.CO – LIBERALIZATION
