.AI Domain Registry has announced that registration of first level .AI domain names will begin on September 15, 2009. Currently .AI Domain Registry accepts the open registration of com.ai domains but beginning September 15 the Registry will accept the open registration of .AI (i.e. domain.ai) as well.
It is important that .com.ai domain holders register their domain names with this new extension in order to avoid the risk that they could be registered by any other interested party.
The registration fee for domains directly under .AI with Registrar Marcaria.com will be USD 150 for a 2 year registration period.
