EURid, the official registry for Europe Domain Names, issued the new version of its second quarter , revealing a 10% year-over-year increase in .EU web address registrations when compared to Q2 2009.
Europe Domains .EU maintained its position in the top-ten of largest TLDs (Top Level Domains) with more than 3,210,000 registered .EU domain names to the date.
April is the anniversary of Europe Domain Names, so there is usually negative growth within Q2 due to the large number of registrations that are up for renewal, but that wasn’t the case for this year.
.EU web sites increase popularity in the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Lithuania as registrations from these European Union countries grew over 35% in the past year.
