Starting March 2010, the top level .CO extension has become available in different registration phases.
Phase 1 ended on March 31st and Phase 2a ended on April 20th.
During Phase 2b (April 26th to Jun 10th) only those that have registered trademarks outside of Colombia (before July 30, 2008) will be able to register .co domains. The domain name must be exactly the same as the trademark. If there is more than one request, an auction will be held. Please be aware that if the auction is lost, there is a non refundable fee of USD 25.
If you don’t meet this requirement, you can apply for the registration of your .co domain in the next 2 Phases:
Phase 3 – June 21 and July 13: Anyone will be able to request a domain. Please note a higher fee will be applied in this phase. In the event there is more than one request for the same domain, an auction will be conducted.
Phase 4 – Begins On July 20: The registration will be open to the general public on “First Come, First Served” basis.
