On the last meeting held in Brussels this week, ICANN’s board voted to enter negotiations with a view to approving the controversial .XXX domains.
.XXX domains are expected to go live at the start of 2011.

According to the new CNNIC’s policy of .CN domain registration regulation issued on December 2009, any company from China can register Chinese domains. China’s domain name industry reached a scale of more than RMB 4.2 billion, reports Sina quoting statistics released by China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) on June 4.
China had more than 16.8 million domain names by the end of last year, including 13.57 million registered .cn domain names, up 41% and 61% year on year, respectively.
