China IDN Passes Evaluation

.CO top level domain registrations opens to general public on July 20th!

Starting March 2010, the top level .CO extension has become available in different registration phases.

Phase 1 ended on March 31st and Phase 2 ended on June 10th.

We are currently going through Phase 3:

Phase 3 – June 21 and July 13*: Anyone will be able to request a domain. In the event there is more than one request for the same domain, an auction will be conducted. ICANN approves Chinese characters and .XXX

On the last meeting held in Brussels this week, ICANN’s board voted to enter negotiations with a view to approving the controversial .XXX domains.

.XXX domains are expected to go live at the start of 2011.
